Buffy, Buffy, Buffy!

Do you remember the show Family Affair? Buffy, Jody, Uncle Bill, Sissy and Mr. French?

Anyway it aired on television from 1966 to 1971  and I loved it. For some reason I was fascinated with Buffy, at least that’s what my mother said. I would always point to the screen and say Buffy, Buffy, Buffy.

Well, Buffy had her own line of clothing that you could purchase in stores. She was always dressed so nicely on the show….cute dresses, stylish coats with a hat to match. Even Mr. Blackwell would have to give Buffy a thumbs up!

My mother, being the wonderful person she is, decided that she would dress me like Buffy. So, we would go to the store and she would buy a bunch of “Buffy Clothes”.  All of the clothes had a tag with Buffy’s  picture on it.  My mother said I would just light up and say her name over and over again.

I wore so many of her clothes, I began to think  I was just like Buffy…minus the penthouse and a butler of course!(smile)  So, when I  would wear  my Buffy outfits I would tell people that I was the Black Buffy.  Needless to say my mother would dream of passing out at those moments, but it didn’t stop me. I was convinced that I was Buffy.

I said it so much that my family gave me the nickname “Buffy”.  Yep, that’s  what they call me when I go home to Pennsylvania. Buffy, Buff, or Buff  Renee(renee is my middle name).

So, what interesting nickname do you have and what’s the story behind it. I’d like to know!

Questions anyone?

January 23, 2009

What’s something you want to know about me but never thought you’d have the opportunity to ask?  I get many questions about my job, my coworkers, my dog Justin etc.  But the one thing that surprises people is how short I am.

I am actually 5′4″, but most people tell me I look taller on television. Go figure!

So, let me know what you want to know. I’ll do my best to answer you.

Fast food follies!

January 7, 2009

There are a few fast food places near our station that I go to every now and then for dinner.  One in particular has provided me with many questions in regards to  customer service. Does customer service even exist anymore?

I  ordered an item from the menu that comes “heated” and was asked if  I wanted them to heat it up.  Another time I ordered through the drive-thru and once I finished my order, the worker asked me if it was for here or to go. I responded “Are you serious?”

The best one is when I ordered a chocolate shake and the response was “Shake  Sheen Broke”  I thought I was hearing things so I asked again. I got the same response.   What is a “shake sheen”?

Those are just a few of my fast food adventures.  I’m sure you have some as well.  Send me your stories….can’t wait to read them!

Danita
